Babylegs!

Babylegs are leg warmers for babies, and they are rather expensive to buy (about $15 per pair). Mommy thought they looked cute though, and found a website that showed her how to make her own out of fun socks. The pair that Briana is modeling (please excuse the drool, that's compliments of her second tooth that broke through this morning) was made from a pair of socks that Mommy got at the Dollar Store! The benefit of Babylegs is that Briana can wear them instead of tights, and they make diaper changes MUCH easier! Babylegs, can also be worn on the arms, for a fun layered look with her short sleeve shirts. Briana doesn't mind them, and likes to look at the pretty colors on her legs!

Enjoying the Mesh-Feeder....

A few weeks ago Mommy bought Briana a mesh feeder, it's looks like a teething ring, but it has a mesh sack that you can put food into. Mommy puts pieces of fruit in it (banana, pears, apples, etc.), and Briana can chew on the mesh to eat the fruit. Since the fruit squeezes through the mesh, there is no choking hazard, and Briana can feed herself. Briana really likes feeding herself this way!

Fun Times with Grandma and Granpda

This weekend Grandma and Grandpa B came to visit. Briana was a little shy at first, but after they had been there for awhile she warmed up to them. She enjoyed waving with Grandpa, he would wave at her, and she would wave back. This was the first time that we had seen Briana wave, and she was very proud of herself. She now waves at everything!!

Feeling better!!!

Briana is feeling much better now that she has been on antibiotics for a couple of days for her ear infection. She has started singing, and talking all the time again!! Last night she was content playing on the floor by herself, and practicing her barrel rolling abilities! She rolls around the room to get to things that interest her. So far she doesn't seem interested in learning how to crawl, she's perfectly content with tumbling around the room to get from point A to point B.

What do you think? Does she look good in blue?

Briana's new food for this week is blueberries. She wasn't sure what to think of them at first, so Mommy mixed them with a little bit of rice cereal. It took her a few minutes to get used to the new flavor, but she gobbled them all up!!

6 Months Old - and a Wedding!!

Lizz and her dad walking down the aisle...
Greg, Daddy, Sean, and Jason waiting for the bride...
Daddy and Ryan watching the wedding ceremony...

On Saturday Briana turned 6 months old!! She celebrated her half birthday with our friends Greg and Lizz at their wedding. Briana enjoyed dressing up for the wedding, and seeing her Daddy all dressed up in his tux (he was the best-man). Lizz looked absolutely beautiful in her wedding dress, and all of the guys looked pretty spiffy in their tuxes!!
Briana has grown so much in the past month. Her accomplishments as a 5 month old include, being able to support herself while sitting, learning how to barrel roll (she does this to get to things that are out of reach, rather than crawl), getting her first tooth, and learning how to give high fives!! Mommy and Daddy are very proud of her, and all that she has learned how to do. We continue to be amazed by Briana, and how quickly she learns new things. It seems like just yesterday that we were bringing her home from the hospital, and she's already 6 months old!!

Wanna see my tooth??

Briana wasn't happy with the post about her tooth, because you couldn't actually see her new tooth, so here's a new picture that shows her lastest accomplishment!

At Last! A Tooth!!!!!

On Sunday, September 14th, Briana's first tooth emerged from her little pink gums!! Though it's still pretty hard to see, you can definately feel it in her mouth! Briana isn't nearly as excited about it as Mommy and Daddy are, so far she thinks teeth are just something to drool about.

Sick Baby...

Briana had came down with her first cold while we were at the event on Thursday. She spent all day Friday, and most of Saturday running a fever, and being cranky. Mommy felt really bad for her. Being that she was congested, the only way that Briana could sleep comfortably was to be propped up against something while she was sleeping. Briana is such a giving child, she shared her cold and fever with Mommy, so that they could both be miserable together!!

Remembering Uncle Bean...

The Monument...
Uncle Bean's Plaque...
Briana talking to Cousin Greg...

On September 11th, Mommy and Briana went to a ceremony in remembrance of the Fallen Heroes from the National Guard. The ceremony was a dedication of a new monument that was erected at the local National Guard base to remember those that have given the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country. We had a very nice time, and were very moved by the beautiful monument that was created for our heroes.

Taking an Interest in Local Politics

Reading the brochure...
Making sure she didn't miss anything...
Deciding that she approves of Marion's point of view...

Yesterday Daddy brought home a brochure for Mommy to read that was put out by one of our friends that is running for State Representative for our area. Briana loves reading, and quickly grabbed the flyer out of Mommy's hands so that she could get a better look at it herself!

Hey Batter, Batter!!

Mommy and Daddy don't really follow baseball, but they pretend to be Yankees fans! Briana looked perfectly adorable in her Yankees outfit, and Daddy even found a Briana-sized baseball bat for her to pose with!

So Pretty....

Briana has outgrown most of her 3-6 month clothes, so we've been having fun dressing her up in her "new" 6-9 month wardrobe. She looked really cute in her denim jumper this morning, so Mommy had to take a picture! Isn't she pretty?

A Deer? No, a Dear!

Daddy got a new game camera for his birthday (a little early), so that he can spy on deer in the woods behind our house. Mommy and Daddy were testing it out to see how it worked, and it took a picture of Briana, our little dear.

Of course Moxie had to get in on the action too!

A New Toy?

Mommy was cleaning out one of Briana's diaper bags, and left some of the contents on the bed while she was getting Briana ready for bed. Briana's little hands quickly found something that looked like fun! A nasal aspirator! She laid on the bed in her jammies playing with it for quite awhile (it's one that Mommy keeps in the diaper bag - just in case we need it, but we never have), apparently it makes a great toy!

Rubber Ducky You're the One, Making Bathtime Lot's of FUN!

Briana has outgrown her infant bathtub that fits in the sink, so Mommy and Daddy got her a new tub. Her inflatable ducky tub sits inside the bathtub, and gives her a soft place to take a bath. Briana likes the fact that she can freely kick her feet and splash! She likes to lean back and put her feet up on the side of the tub, and just lounge in her bath. Her new tub has made bathtime much easier for Mommy and Daddy, and is much more comfortable for Briana.

A Rainbow for Mommy and Daddy

September 3rd was Mommy and Daddy's 3rd wedding anniversary. Briana and Mommy met Daddy at his office before going out to dinner to celebrate. It was raining when we got there, but as we were leaving we saw a very pretty rainbow! We all enjoyed a nice dinner, and Briana was a very good girl. She enjoyed looking at the colorful menu, and smiling at the waitresses.

They Grow So Fast!!

Briana - 5 Days OldBriana - 5 1/2 Months Old

Mommy and Daddy were looking at Briana's "baby pictures" this weekend, and were amazed by how much she has grown and changed in the past five and a half months. Looking back, it's hard to remember what Briana was like as a little tiny newborn. We're quite thankful that we have so many pictures to remind us of how little she used to be, and can compare them to the big girl that she has become.

She has developed her own personality, she has opinions about things that she likes, and dislikes. She makes us smile as often (if not more) than we make her smile. She interacts with her surroundings more and more each day, and notices things with a great deal of excitement (like watching the rain drops on the car window). She's also beginning to get frustrated when she wants to do something, and can't quite figure out how to do it. Briana has discovered textures, and loves to touch everything just to see how it feels against her fingers. She amazes Mommy and Daddy everyday!

Briana and her Pink Blankies

Briana loves her pink blankies (Hippo Blankie, and Butterfly Blankie)!! She's become very adept at playing peek-a-boo with them, and loves to cuddle them when she's upset or sleepy. Mommy and Daddy are thankful for the fact that she has two blankies that she loves equally, that way when one is in need of a bath, the other is free to take on the snuggling role.

Introducing the Sippy Cup

Mommy was inspired by the fact that Briana will now hold her own bottle at daycare (though she has yet to let Mommy see her do it), so she bought Briana a transition sippy cup. Briana really likes holding the sippy cup (and chewing on the spout), and is now attempting to learn how to drink out it. She does really well with it, if Mommy holds it for her. She hasn't quite mastered tipping the cup up enough to actually drink from it herself though.
