Perfecting the Pouty Lip

It can't get more perfect than that!!!

Over the weekend Briana started making this face, not because she was upset about anything, but just because it was something new! Mommy thinks that maybe her top teeth are getting ready to make an appearance, and the suction of her top lip against her gums feels good. That's just Mommy's guess though, it could just be that Briana wants us to laugh when she makes the face!!

7 Months Old

It's hard to believe that Briana is 7 months old already! She's such a big girl!! At her latest doctor's appointment she weighed 16lbs 8oz, finally doubling her birth weight! She has her two bottom front teeth, and has started crawling! She's still working on the full fledged crawling technique, but has mastered the "army" crawl.

Cloth Diapering

Mommy and Daddy have been having problems with Briana's diapers leaking at night, because she's a heavy wetter when she's sleeping. Mommy did some research online, and found that cloth diapers are more absorbent (and better for the environment), so she ordered some to try. Last night was Briana's first time wearing a cloth diaper, and everyone was very exicted to find that it didn't leak!!

Cloth diapers have come a long way!! The one that Briana is wearing is adjustable, and fits a baby from 7 lbs all the way up to 35 lbs. It has velcro closures, and is put on exactly like a disposable diaper, no need for tricky diaper pins! The absorbent part of the diaper slides into a pocket, and an extra insert can be added for additional absorbency (great for over-nights!). It's only been one night, but Mommy is already impressed!

Moxie Makes a New Friend...

Last weekend when Briana and Mommy went shopping, Briana found a stuffed kitty that she really liked, so of course it came home with us. Moxie has decided that the new kitty is hers! She enjoys snuggling with her new friend, and appreciates the fact that it doesn't pull her tail like Briana does!

Four Days Old...

Almost Seven Months Old...

It's amazing how quickly she has changed from a little tiny newborn into a little girl with her own personality, that laughs and plays with us. She's not a "snuggly" baby, and the only time that Mommy and Daddy get a chance to really cuddle with her is when she falls asleep in our arms.

RAWRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since Halloween is fast approaching, Mommy thought it might be a good idea to make sure that Briana would fit into her Halloween costume. Briana wasn't very happy when Mommy tried to take pictures of her wearing it... She apparently was embarrassed by the ears and tail! We did manage to get a few cute pictures though!

After playing dress-up, Briana decided that the costume was much more fun to play with than it was to wear. Silly girl!

Getting Ready for Daycare...

Mommy thought that Briana looked really cute in her outfit this morning, so she had to take a few pictures!! It was cold out this morning (in the 20's), so Briana wore her new fleece suit. Mommy and Daddy both thought that she looked like Maggie from the Simpsons (when Maggie is wearing her snow suit, and looks like a star)!

Visiting Grammy and Grandpa...

Yesterday we went to visit Grammy and Grandpa T. To our surprise Great Grammy was there too!! Great Grammy hadn't seen Briana since June, so she was excited to see how much she had grown in the past few months. Briana has started getting shy around people that she's not very familiar with, but to our surprise let Great Grammy hold her and play with her.

Briana had a lot of fun at Grammy and Grandpa's and was very excited to see Bear, and get a chance to pet him before we left for the night. She wasn't sure what to make of the big dog, since she hasn't really been around dogs much, and he's much bigger than her kitty. She would get a big smile on her face everytime he would walk into the room.

Mastering the sippy cup...

Briana is getting much better at using her sippy cup, the cold milk feels good on her sore gums. She still prefers nursing over bottles and sippy cups, but she's getting the hang of tipping the sippy cup up far enough for the milk to come out when she sucks on the spout.

Sisters...

It never fails, if Briana is playing on the floor, Moxie is quick to join in on the fun. If Mommy is trying to take a picture of Briana, Moxie is quick to sneak in the shot. Briana really enjoys Moxie, she enjoys petting her (and is getting much better about being gentle when she does so), and has developed a high pitched voice that she uses when she is talking to her. Moxie is still a little shy when Briana tries to pet her, fearing that her tail will be pulled, but for the most part isn't afraid of Briana at all.

Rodeo Star in the Making!

Briana has decided that she wants to be in the rodeo, just like her Uncle Re Re! Briana enjoys stuffed animals, so Mommy gave her the purple cow that Autumn bought Briana before she was born. Briana was quick to start wrestling with the cow! She spent a long time playing with it, and laughed really hard when Mommy and Daddy made the cow run away, and then come back and jump on her!
