Mommy hasn't been very good about keeping the blog updated lately. So here are some photo highlights of the past 6 weeks.

18 Months Old

It's hard to believe, but Briana is 18 months old!! She had her 18 Month doctor's appointment last week, and dazzled the nurse with her speaking abilities. She now weighs 21lbs 14oz (15%), is 31.5 inches tall (46%), and her head circumference is 19 inches (90%!!). She's grown an inch and gained a pound since her doctor's appointment in June! She's still on the small side, but she makes up for it in her cognitive developments.

Her latest phrases of choice? "I had it first!" "I want to watch ELMO!" and "Momma, you're crazy!" She's voicing her independence daily, and keeping Mommy and Daddy on their toes.

We've started the potty training process, and Briana is very proud of herself when she uses the grown up potty. She prefers to use the regular toilet instead of her potty. She recently had one day where she never had an accident in her training pants!! YAY!! She still wears diapers most of the time, but given the choice she chooses her "elephant undies" over diapers (her training pants have jungle animals printed on them). She's getting to be such a big girl!

What do three singing pigs say?

On Friday, Mommy bought Briana a new book. The book is "Moo, Baa, La La La" by Sandra Boynton. Briana likes the book, and caught on to it very quickly. The first three pages of the book read as follows:

"The cow says MOO!"

"The sheep says BAA!"

Three singing pigs say LA LA LA!"

OUCH!

Yesterday, Briana fell while she was playing at daycare and hurt her ear. It looks yucky, but it doesn't seem to be bothering her! She's TOUGH!

Mommy's excited, because Briana's hair is finally getting long enough that she can put it up!! Briana is very cooperative, and actually prefers to have her hair up, so that it doesn't poke her in the eyes!

Mommy is a slacker!

It's been a long time since Mommy has updated Briana's blog! We've all been very busy, and have been enjoying the recent summer weather.

Daddy likes standing by the fan and saying "Briana!" so that it alters his voice. Briana thinks it's funny when he does it, and has been saying, "BriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiNANA!" for a couple of weeks now. She gets really excited when she sees a fan and wants to say "Briana" into it!

Mommy's cellphone is also an MP3 player, however Mommy has yet to download any music to it. Despite the fact that there are only two songs on there, Briana enjoys the Usher song "Love in this Club" that came already programmed into the phone. (We are not sure WHERE she got the little butt-slap move from, but it's really cute!)

Random Pictures From Our Vacation

Briana has changed her name...

For some reason, whenever we ask Briana what her name is, she replies proudly, "KNEES!" We aren't sure why she thinks her name is Knees. When we say, "Nope, your name is Briana." She then replies, "And Knees!" Silly girl!

This video is a little dark due to the light from the windows, but you can hear Briana's voice as she tells Mommy her "name."

Briana's First Boat Ride!!!

While we were on vacation Briana got to take her first ride in Papa's boat. We weren't sure how she would like it, so it was only a short ride. She enjoyed seeing the "balls" (buoys) at the other beaches, and liked feeling the spray of the water!

Fun Things At Camp

Mommy, Daddy, and Briana were on vacation the week after the 4th of July. We stayed with Grammy and Papa at their camp. Briana loves it at camp, and loves to find new things to entertain herself. The pictures below are some of the things she really enjoyed!

Celebrating the 4th of July

We celebrated the 4th of July with Grammy, Papa, Aunt Charlene, Uncle Danny, and Daddy's cousins. We all stayed in Brighton, at Grammy and Papa's camp on Island Pond. The weather wasn't very nice for the 4th of July festivities, but we had fun anyway. It rained during the parade, but that didn't stop Briana from having fun. She wasn't really interested in the parade itself, but was very excited when she saw a German Shepard puppy in the crowd. The puppy's owners were very nice, and let Briana pet him!!

She's so bright she has to wear shades!

Briana has been obsessed with Mommy's glasses for a long time, but never would wear her sunglasses, until she found them in her diaper bag last night. She spent most of the evening taking them off, and putting them back on. Silly girl!
